Hall of Fame

Established in 2003, Washburn Rural High School Hall of Fame honors graduates and staff members who excel and achieve significant accomplishments at the state, local, or national level.

Nominations will be accepted at any time. However, any nomination submitted after July 15 will roll over to the following year for consideration. A public ceremony is held at the high school each year to recognize inductees.

Eligibility

Eligibility requirements vary based on the nominee's relationship to Washburn Rural High School.

Qualifications for Alumni

  1. Inductees must be graduates of Washburn Rural High School.
  2. Inductees are eligible five years after their graduation, or immediately upon death.
  3. Inductees must be nominated by someone other than the nominee and other than a family member of the nominee.
  4. Induction is based upon the nominee's achievements following their graduation.
  5. Once nominated, nominees remain eligible for reconsideration each year.
  6. All inductees will be selected by the Washburn Rural High School Hall of Fame selection committee.

Qualifications for Staff

  1. Inductees shall have been former, full-time employees of WRHS with no fewer than ten years of service to USD 437.
  2. Inductees are eligible immediately upon retirement, death, or resignation.
  3. Inductees must be nominated by someone other than the nominee and other than a family member of the nominee.
  4. All inductees will be selected by the Washburn Rural High School Hall of Fame selection committee.

Qualifications for a Team

  1. Teams must be a State Champion.
  2. Teams are eligible five years after their graduation.
  3. Coaches of the team may be current employees.
