Washburn Rural North PTO
Attention 8th Grade Families:
The Washburn Rural North PTO is excited to continue the Auburn-Washburn tradition of celebrating our 8th grade students and the mentors who have helped guide, support, and inspire them along the way.
The Washburn Rural North PTO invites all 8th grade students to attend “One Last Flight – A Night to Honor Those Who Helped Us Soar.” This special evening is an opportunity for students to celebrate with a meaningful adult(s) in their life before they take their next step into high school.
Each 8th grader is invited to bring an adult guest(s) who has had a meaningful impact on their life — such as a parent, grandparent, coach, mentor, teacher, or another important supporter.
If a student does not have a personal guest to bring, they are absolutely still encouraged to attend! Students are welcome to come with a friend and enjoy the evening together. Everyone is invited, and we would love to celebrate with all of our 8th graders!
The evening will include music for everyone to enjoy, snacks, a professional photographer capturing both posed and candid photos, a fun photo booth with props, and prize drawings throughout the night. Photos from the evening will be shared with families at no cost.

🎉Congratulations to two outstanding groups of students at WRN!
Our Scholars’ Bowl team had a great showing at their recent tournament. Way to represent Raven Nation with your knowledge, teamwork, and determination! A big thank you to Mrs. Dowell for her leadership and support of our students.
We’re also celebrating our yearbook staff, who officially completed this year’s yearbook and sent it off for publication! Their hard work behind the scenes will help capture so many great memories from this school year. Thank you to their sponsor, Mrs. Stones, for guiding the team through this huge accomplishment.

Raven Nation,
March is Youth Art Month, and we’re thrilled to celebrate the amazing creativity of our students!
Each year, our art teacher, Mrs. Munz, has the honor of choosing one student's artwork to represent us in the statewide Youth Art Month exhibit. This year’s selected artist is Ethan Stephens, a 6th-grade student from the Mavericks team. His piece, “Growing Up,” has been chosen to represent our school and will be on display at the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library from February 24th through March 28th. Stop by the library to see Ethan's piece in person if you have the chance!
