Congratulations to Our Very Own Faye Ungerer!
Faye is a 4th grader in Mrs. Crawford's class, and has been chosen as a finalist for Artsonia Artist of the Week!
Please vote for Faye every day till Saturday night at Midnight!
The winner is simply the artist who gets the most votes!
This is a world wide contest! So share with as many people as you can!
Winners will receive commemorative plaques and be featured on the Artsonia homepage.
In addition, Blick Art Materials has generously donated $100 gift certificates to the winning schools and $50 to the winning artists.

Artsonia's Artist of the Week Contest
March is National Youth Art Month!
Congratulations to Emma Smith whose artwork, inspired by Grant Wood's American Gothic Painting, was chosen to represent Indian Hills Elementary at the Kansas Youth Art Month Art Exhibition at the Topeka Shawnee County Public Library!
Each Art Teacher in the state is invited to choose one work of art to send to this annual March event to celebrate the Visual Arts.
Please visit the library, view the exhibit during normal Library hours and don't forget to vote for your choice for best of show!

The Board of Education has named three finalists in its search for the district's next Superintendent of Schools. The finalists, listed in alphabetical order, are Dr. Kellen Adams, Dr. Kathleen (Katie) Collier, and Dr. Justin Henry.
Community members are invited to attend a public forum on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Indian Hills Elementary School to hear directly from the candidates. All attendees will have the opportunity to submit feedback directly to the Board via an online submission form.

Congratulations to these students for taking 1st place in a local chess tournament!
Today we had our character assembly to recognize students who were showing honesty in the month of February. We also got to celebrate the success of our recent Glow Run fundraiser! The top five sellers from it got to silly string a teacher of their choice. It’s a great day to be an Eagle!
WOW! 56 incredible book character tissue boxes were brought in this week! We are so impressed with the fun and creativity that shines through each creation! Staff are voting this week for their top 5 and the 5 students with the most votes will win a gift certificate. Stay tuned to see who wins!
