Raven Nation,

It is my sincere privilege to welcome you to Washburn Rural North Middle School. WRN truly embodies the answer to the question, "if you could build a perfect school, what would it be?" Through the generosity of our community, we are pleased to open our doors this fall and welcome the first set of Ravens to our halls.

At Washburn Rural North, our staff have identified three core values that will guide everything we do. First, high expectations of both staff and students are at the forefront of our daily experience. We believe that if we set the bar high both academically and socially for our students, we will achieve great things. Second, we have identified student learning as being a core principle for us. We know that we do many things in order to care for our WRN students, but we also recognize that academic excellence and a focus on student learning has to be at the heart of what we do. It is our job to ensure that all students who leave WRN enter WRHS with every possible door open for them. Finally, we've identified connections to our community as being a pillar of our culture. We recognize the gift that has been given to us by the community, and thus we need to ensure that we give back by ensuring that we instill such values in our students. Additionally, we recognize the importance of connection to the school community, and strive to ensure that when students see the Raven logo, they understand that it means they are part of something bigger than themselves; indeed, they are a part of the Raven Nation.
