2026 Scholastic Art Competition
The Washburn Rural High School Art Department is excited to announce 15 student award-winners from the 2026 Scholastic Art Competition in Wichita. This is the premier juried high school and middle school art exhibition in Kansas. More than 1,600 artworks were submitted across Eastern Kansas, with only 509 receiving honors.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation's longest-running, most prestigious educational initiative supporting student achievement in the visual and literary arts. The Scholastic Awards look for work that demonstrates originality, technical skills and the emergence of personal voice or vision. The following WRHS students received recognition for their work:
