Members of our facilities crew have been working hard all summer long to freshen up our schools for the start of the new year. They installed new lighting and flooring, replaced windows, repaired concrete, painted, cleaned, disinfected, and more. Every building in the district has benefited from their efforts! The following is a list of capital outlay projects that were undertaken during Summer 2023:
Auburn Elementary
• New restroom flooring
• Health Office expansion
Farley Elementary
• New restroom flooring
Jay Shideler Elementary
• New roofing over the kindergarten wing
*Pauline Central
• New exterior door to library for secondary egress
Pauline South
• New roofing over gym
Wanamaker Elementary
• Upgrades to 12 classrooms and the west wing corridor (new HVAC, paint, carpet, ceilings, and LED lighting with dimmers)
• Multiple flooring projects throughout the school
• Drainage work in front of the building
*Washburn Rural Middle School
• Installation of a new dropdown volleyball system
*Washburn Rural High School
• Remodeled two science rooms (new floors, paint, ceilings, plumbing, LED lighting with dimmers, technology equipment, cabinetry, furniture, safety equipment, and exhaust systems)
• New roofing over secondary story
• Replaced all ceiling fans in the Activity Center and installed a new scoreboard in gym A
District-Wide
• Installation of LED lights in all buildings
• Various painting projects in all buildings
• Replaced 36 classroom windows
• Multiple concrete repair projects
• Cleaned and disinfected all buildings
• Partial new roof at Shuler Education Center
*Summer 2023 bond project site. Bond construction projects are not included on this list.
