Did you hear!? The carnival was in town this week in the third grade classrooms! 🎪 Each day, students received tickets 🎟 for completing challenging reading tasks, demonstrating hard work, and working cooperatively with their teammates. At the end of each day, students redeemed their tickets on carnival games and prizes. 🍿🥜 Thank you to all of the family members who donated prizes and to the volunteers who helped run the carnival activities! #fes437 #usd437

Mrs. Schneider and Mrs. Meier’s STEM buddies created containers for their eggs to see if they could survive the egg drop. The kids took what they learned yesterday about arches and the they designed a case for their egg with everyday items. They built it on their own. They explained it to the group. They hypothesized and recorded. 10 out of 13 survived! Mrs. Meier survived also and practiced her growth mindset to get back down.

Farley Elementary School is with Ashley Smith and 2 others.

A school-wide pep rally was held today to kick off state assessments. Students in grades 3-6 were cheered on by their younger peers as they paraded through the hallways. The pep rally consisted of motivating videos, a friendly game of “Are You Smarter Than Your Teacher?”, and encouraging words from Dr. Cassidy and the Farley Fox 🦊. Students will wear their personalized “thinking caps” during state assessments as a reminder to work hard, do their best, and keep a growth mindset.
