Farley Elementary

About Farley Elementary

Farley Elementary, the newest addition to Auburn-Washburn, is the district's seventh elementary school. Built to help with growing enrollment, Farley was commissioned as part of a bond issue passed in 2008. Farley Elementary takes its name from Washburn University President, Dr. Jerry Farley, and his wife, Susan.

Going green

The design of Farley Elementary makes it Auburn-Washburn's first "green" school:

  • Its construction includes durable masonry.
  • Its low-maintenance brick and pre-finished metal exterior require no future painting.
  • Where possible, materials containing recycled contents are used.
  • Natural light provides the majority of its lighting; over 90% of its spaces have direct views to the exterior.
