Auburn-Washburn Transportation
Our Transportation Department works hard everyday to ensure that every student in the district has a bus to ride.
Using the program VersaTrans, we are able to keep track of special needs, ages, and addresses. This helps our department create bus routes that allow the bus drivers to reach pick-up/drop-off points in the quickest and safest ways. Our transportation staff are held to a high standard requiring them to maintain, but not limited to, the following:
School bus safety is knowing what you can do AND what you can not do to make certain you get to school safely on the bus.
To become a safe rider, you must LEARN and PRACTICE the school bus safety rules! School Bus Safety depends upon: Your Driver Your Parents YOU - the Student Everyone has to work together to make the bus safe!
Designated Pick-Up and Drop-Off Policy
The Auburn-Washburn USD 437 Board of Education policy states that transported students are entitled to only one designated pick-up address and
one designated drop-off address per student. The pick-up and drop-off locations may be different, but each must remain constant.
If your child is riding home with a friend or needs to be dropped off at another location in your school's attendance area because of an emergency, we must be notified by telephone or a note. This is required even if your child is going to be dropped off at a different stop on his/her regular bus route.
These policies insure the accountability of students on the bus. Need bus route information? Visit the USD 437 VersaTrans eLink.
