Congratulations to these students who won the PE teacher for the day through the school dance raffle.

It was an exciting end to the week as 47 students and 14 staff members participated in the Battle of the Books competition! They worked in teams to answer questions and identify quotes from this year’s William Allen White books, a total of 17 books.
They should be so proud of their hard work, perseverance, and teamwork! Way to go, Mustang readers!📚
Thank you to all who helped in any way to make this happen!

These glasses have been in the office for several days. If these look like your child's, you may pick them up in the office or send your child in to get them so they can take them home.

If you have a Margo shirt, Margo would love to see you wear it next Tuesday, May 21st! Let's show her how PAWSOME we are!

Our fifth graders had a great time while learning some civics along the way!

Auburn-Washburn USD 437

Fifth-graders at Wanamaker Elementary School got a hands-on look at local government this week as they toured the Kansas Statehouse and Frank Carlson Federal Building. They met with state legislators Senator Brenda Dietrich and Representative Kirk Haskins, as well as U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Richard Federico, Federal District Judge Toby Crouse, and Magistrate Judge Rachel Schwartz. Students came away from the field trip with a better understanding of the three branches of government and the day-to-day operations of legislators and judges.

Great news for those who did not purchase a yearbook! We have a few left. Go to https://www.jostens.com/apps/store/customer/1085305/Wanamaker-Elementary-School/ and order while there are still some left! The store will be open until May 15th or until the last copy is sold, whichever comes first.
