Nominations Being Accepted for Annual Vander Hart, Crawford, & Perry Inclusion Awards

The Auburn-Washburn Student Services Department is accepting nominations for the Vander Hart, Crawford, & Perry Inclusion Award. This award is presented to members of the school-wide community who have aided in the furtherance of an inclusive environment in Auburn-Washburn.

Examples of a person promoting an inclusive environment may include, the staff member who actively promotes and supports inclusion in her classroom or program, a student who establishes a friendship with a peer and ensures they are included, or a bus driver who arranges the seating chart to ensure that all children have an opportunity to interact appropriately on the bus.

This award was first presented by SEAC in 2011 in recognition of the students at Washburn Rural High School who started the Circle of Friends Program. If you know anyone who meets this criterion, we encourage nominations for any member of the school-wide community. Please submit your nomination by May 10, 2018, to Jaime Callaghan by email (callajai@usd437.net) or by fax (339-4025). Award recipients will be honored at the Auburn-Washburn Board of Education meeting on May 21.

Please include your name, the nominee's name, how this person is connected with Auburn-Washburn, and a brief description in 100 words or fewer as to why this person is deserving of a nomination.
