TSCPL @ Meal Distribution Sites Begins Thursday, June 4
The Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library will have summer reading activities and resources to hand out weekly on Thursdays in conjunction with the Auburn-Washburn grab-and-go meal distribution. The goal is to encourage students to keep reading and learning. Each student will receive a bag with activity sheets tied to the TSCPL summer reading program including how to sign up and record their reading, activities tied to our Virtual Summer Gallery Exhibit, Story Worlds, and a full list of the online events and activities to do at home.
Each week the bag will have different activities and the final week, each student will get to have a book to keep.
Library staff will be on hand if there are questions about our programs or resources.
The TSCPL materials will be available on Thursdays and the Auburn-Washburn grab and go meals will be available all weekdays at the following locations:
- Washburn Rural High School (5900 SW 61st St) – 10:30 am-Noon
- Auburn Elementary (810 N Commercial St, Auburn) – 10:30 am-Noon
- Pauline Central (6625 SW Westview Rd) – 10:30 am-Noon
Distribution will continue at all three sites through June 30 (food supplies and staffing permitting).
Beginning July 1, meal distribution will only take place at Pauline Central. Adjustments to the process may be implemented at that time.
The program at Pauline Central will continue through July 28 (food supplies and staffing permitting).
Meals for Friday, July 3 will be distributed on July 2. There will be no distribution on Friday, July 3 in observance of the July 4 Holiday.
