The Auburn Washburn School district provides special education services for exceptional children. Screening
procedures are in place in each building to identify and support students enrolled in district schools, and
those attending private and home schools. Parents who may have a concern about their student's progress
and/or development may contact the building principal, the school counselor, the school psychologist or
their child's teacher. The building Student Support Team will receive this information and begin a process to
investigate the concern and design a plan to support the student.
A parental rights handbook regarding procedural safeguards available to exceptional students and their parents, and
the local education agency responsibilities is available in each building and at the USD 437 Shuler Educaiton Center.
Parents may call their school, or 339-4000 for more information.
